Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame moves up induction ceremony registration deadline to Sunday

MARQUETTE — Organizers with the Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame have been notified they need to move up the deadline for purchase of tickets to next month’s induction banquet.

The deadline is now Sunday to purchase tickets for the banquet that will be held on Saturday, May 10, at the Island Resort and Casino in Harris, located about 15 miles west of Escanaba.

This will be the 53rd annual ceremony with this year’s event starting at 5 p.m. EDT with a social hour, followed by a brief introduction and meal at 6 p.m., then the induction to follow.

Reservations that are required cost $40 per person.

Inductees will be Jeff Olson of Ishpeming, Jeannie Thoren of Marquette, Dave St. Onge of Ishpeming, James “Jamie” Angeli of Iron River, Nick Baumgartner of Iron River, Lesley (Noel) Delvaux of Escanaba, Rachel (Folcik) McClure of Carney-Nadeau, Denise Porath of Escanaba, John Prokos of Escanaba and Barb Sickler of Lake Linden-Hubbell.
