Marquette, Westwood girls basketball teams post both wins and losses
MARQUETTE — The Marquette Senior High School girls basketball team split a pair of recent games, falling to Kingsford before defeating Munising.
Meanwhile, over the past 10 days, the Westwood girls team came up with two victories in three tries.

Sentinels split
On Friday, the Sentinels lost a tough one at Kingsford, 39-37 in overtime.
Then on Monday night, Marquette returned home and defeated the Mustangs 58-53. Munising is the No. 3 team in Division 4 as voted in the weekly poll conducted by the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.
Aubree Blackburn scored 16 points for MSHS in the win, leading four of its players scoring in double figures as Hayley Taylor and Bri Anderson each had 11 points and Addi Kramer 10.
Marquette (7-11) has four games remaining in the regular season, including two games later this week, hosting Calumet at 7 p.m. today and Negaunee at 7:15 p.m. Friday.

Patriots win 2 of 3
Back on Feb. 4, Westwood defeated Iron Mountain 59-39 as Makayla Fisher led the Patriots with 15 points and Macy Linsenbigler paced IM with 17.
On Friday, WHS took out Manistique 49-33.
Lexi Olson led Westwood with 20 points, while Maya Carlson topped the Emeralds with 14.
And on Tuesday, the Patriots fell to Hancock 54-35. Olson again led Westwood with 13 points, while Kay Pietila paced the Bulldogs with 12.
Westwood now stands at 7-9 with a game at Houghton at 7:15 p.m. today, then is off until Tuesday when the Pats play at West Iron County.
