Marquette’s American Legion Post 44 Bantam AA hockey team advanced to the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association state tournament with a hard-fought, 2-1 triple-overtime victory over the Portage Lake Flyers in the MAHA District 8 tournament finals. After PL scored first, Post 44’s Luc Cambensy tied the game with 58 seconds left in regulation with the goaltender pulled for an extra attacker. Cambensy also scored the game-winning goal at 1:20 of OT No. 3 to clinch the tourney championship. Post 44 now advances to the state tournament to be played in Calumet from Feb. 28 to March 2.
