Baseball clinic scheduled in Gladstone for March 1

GLADSTONE — A baseball coaches clinic meant for those mentoring at all youth levels through high school will be held in Gladstone at the start of March.

The Cold Weather Baseball Coaches Alliance will host its 2025 clinic at the Terrace Bay Inn in Gladstone on Saturday, March 1.

The keynote speaker will be Dan Cimini, the head baseball coach at Warren De La Salle Collegiate High School in suburban Detroit.

A “hot stove” discussion panel will be held by the CWBCA Committee during the event.

Other speakers include coaches from a half-dozen high school programs around the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin.

The clinic runs from noon to 8:30 p.m. and cost is $30 per person, though those registering early — by Feb. 10 — in pairs need only pay $50 total for the two people.

Payment options are check, cash and Venmo. For more information, contact Norway High School coach Tony Adams at 906-221-6769, tadams@nvknights.org or tonyadams5.weebly.com.

Once the cost of the clinic is recouped, Adams said that all proceeds will be applied to the planned U.P. High School All-Star Game.

Other coaches speaking include Adams and members of his Norway staff speaking on “Team Management: Handbook to Practice Planning” and “What We Value,” Scott Hanson of Escanaba on “Realistic Recruiting for the U.P. Player,” Tyler Swanson of Gladstone on “Infielding,” Billy Mitchell of Rudyard on “Building a Program for Post Season Success,” Luke Paul of Jeffers on “Indoor Baseball Practice Tips & Drills” and Jeff Dorschner and Scott Evosevich of Crivitz, Wisconsin, on “Creating Pitching Depth,” “Strike Zone: Umpire’s Perspective” and “Catching.”

In addition, also speaking will be Paul Wagner of Velocity Baseball on “Hitting” and Brad Miller of Power Drive Performance of Boston on “Upper and Lower Body Connectivity” and “Arm and Shoulder Care.”

Starting at $4.62/week.
