Jack’s 2, Venice, Epper tops for Ishpeming men

ISHPEMING — Jack’s 2 and Venice won team championships while Pete Epper took the league MVP in the Ishpeming Men’s Pool League.

Jack’s 2 pulled out a 14-10 victory over Jack’s 1 for the Division 1 title, while Venice posted a 14-10 win over Paradise in Division 2.

During the finals, Steve Harris of Jack’s 2 had two 8-ball breaks.

In the semifinals, Jack’s 1 doubled up Tilden Club 16-8, Jack’s 2 beat Wonder Bar 15-9, Paradise zipped by Wayside 14-10 and Venice outhustled Riverside 13-8.

Tony Norem of Jack’s 2 had a break and run in that round.

Epper’s MVP-winning performance included an .804 winning percentage at 111-27, while Norem had the most break and runs with six and Justin Jonas was most prolific with 8-ball breaks with three.

Negaunee Men’s

On Oct. 25, Bob Greenleaf of Pasquali’s 1 and Tom Austin, Ken DePetro and Jeff Clapham of Pasquali’s 2 all had a break and run.

On Nov. 1, Gary Starrett of Pasquali’s 1 had a break and run.

On Dec. 20, Starrett and Greenleaf each had a break and run.

On Jan. 3, Greg Conradson of Pasquali’s 2 and Clark Gravedoni of Pasquali’s 1 each had a break and run.

On Jan. 17, Rich Helgren of Pasquali’s 4, Brent Soetner of Smarties and Starrett and Bob Masuga of Pasquali’s 1 all had a break and run.
