MARQUETTE — The Northern Michigan University women’s lacrosse team has added an assistant coach to work with Wildcats’ head coach Lindsey LeMay Majkrzak next winter.

“I’m excited for the addition of Quinn Crandall to our coaching staff,” Majkrzak said. “She has the experience to be able to develop players at a high level, as well as the competitive mindset to help keep pushing this young program to new levels of success.”

Crandall spent this past season as assistant coach at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota. During that program’s inaugural season, she helped the Bennies finish 7-0 in its conference and 11-3 overall.

CSB won the regular season title in the 14-team NCAA Division III Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference and finished runner-up in the league’s playoffs to Lake Forest College. Six of CSB’s athletes won All-MWLC awards, including the Rookie of the Year.

In addition, Crandall served as junior director of the Pipeline Lacrosse Club, one of the largest club programs in Minnesota just since its inception in 2022.

During the 2023 high school season, she was also an assistant coach at Buffalo, Minnesota, High School and previously was an assistant at Lakeville South High School and a coach with the True Minnesota club team.

Crandall was a captain and award-winning player at NAIA Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas, earning first team all conference honors in 2022 with more than 50 goals and nearly 100 points.

Coming off Majkrzak’s fourth season in April, NMU recorded a program-record 11 victories and its first winning record in the GLIAC.

The four-team league, led by NCAA Division II powerhouse Grand Valley State, is expected to expand to at least five schools next season as Saginaw Valley State has introduced the sport.
