Democracy: Back to the Future

To the Journal editor:

If you look up once in a while, you realize “art imitates life.” In the “Back to Future Part II” movie, Doc Brown discovers Marty McFly stole a 1950-2000 sports almanac from the future. Doc warned Marty not to exploit acquired information for personal gain, doing so would be dangerous.

But nefarious Biff Tannen steals the almanac and travels back in time to give younger Biff the almanac. Biff proceeded to use the almanac information to acquire massive wealth and power, triggering a chain of events that threatens their community and their lives.

Hill Valley succumbs to Biff’s tyrannical rule, and the community became cloaked with seedy businesses and corruption. Tragedy strikes the McFly family and Doc Brown is sent away. The movie traverses multiple time periods and a dystopian future caused by greed and power.

Art imitates life, America is in a made-for-movie nightmare. By the U.S. Supreme Court granting the presidency immense power through their immunity ruling, Trump is using new powers for personal gain and corrupting government through appointing seedy loyal business oligarchs and lawyers.

The Executive Branch is now attacking the Judicial Branch which granted him immunity powers. Dystopian storm clouds have arrived. Congress abdicating their Constitutional powers is leaving the Judicial Branch as the Country’s last Constitutional guard rail.

In Federalist 51, James Madison hoped each branch would ambitiously protect its “own” power, protecting the checks and balances written into the Constitution.

In 1850s, southern slave oligarchs controlled the branches of government. To fight back, multiple political parties came together to create the Republican Party. A new party dedicated to Americanism where everyone would be allowed to chart their life trajectory and a government caring for the ordinary person’s wellbeing. Up until the 1870s, ordinary people used their new voting powers to elect people to fund schools, medical facilities, and infrastructure.

As the southern democrats regained power, they used wealth re-distribution disinformation to promoted racism to once again divide the Nation and take power away from the ordinary people.

“We the People” saved Democracy from oligarchs in 1850, 1890 and 1920, per The Milwaukee Independent on March 12, 2020.

In 2016, Republican Party started its transformation into the RINO oligarch party, turning their backs on Lincoln and Americanism. They are deceiving ever day Americans while reaching around to pick-pocket their American dream for greedy aspirations.

“We the People” must once again step-up to convey Americanism ideals to state and federal elected members of Congress. Energizing them to ambitiously regain their Constitutional power before it’s too late to hold Executive Branch accountable. Understanding history is our time machine to reset our Americanism future. This is reality, not a movie.
