Where’s Bergman?
To the Journal editor:
House members spent (recent times) in district. As many of us would like more information regarding the chaos going on in the federal government, I called Rep. Jack Bergman’s office for a schedule of his in district appearances.
Initially, I was told his schedule was posted on his Facebook page and his .gov website. Finding nothing, I called his office again and was given his “scheduler’s” email. This is the response I received:
Hi Teresa – based on your previous correspondence to our office as well as your behavior on social media, I won’t be moving forward with your request. You are welcome to continue calling and writing in to our office. We will continue to pass along your messages to the Congressman.
Color me gobsmacked! My ‘behavior on social media’? Needless to say, this is an unprofessional and rude response from a deputy chief of staff whose salary ($160,000) is paid by the taxpayers.
Rep. Bergman has not had a town hall since 2017. We, as his constituents, deserve answers. Is he punishing our entire district because of my behavior on social media or is he using me to excuse his (lack of bravery)?
