Trouble in DC

To the Journal editor:

To my fellow Americans who voted for Donald Trump in the 2024 election: I suspect that the majority of you (with the exception of a small percentage of MAGA extremists), are not happy with what’s happening in Washington, D.C. right now.

You didn’t vote for Elon Musk. You voted for Donald Trump and believed he would provide leadership of a different flavor than Joe Biden.

You did not vote for the chaos and institutional destruction that is occurring right now in our Treasury Department, the Department of State, the CIA, the FBI, the Centers for Disease Control, NOAA, and on and on and on.

You did not vote for Elon Musk, the richest man in America, to be given complete access to all of your personal, highly sensitive financial data. (Yes, he has that now).

You did not vote for him to have complete control of the U.S. Treasury Department’s checkbook. He is an un-elected private citizen/multi-billionaire who stands, along with many of his billionaire pals and corporations, to profit immensely from what he is doing now.

Now is the time for all Americans to come together and resist the coup that is occurring in our nation’s capital. Party affiliation should be set aside at this time.

The future of our democracy, our government, and our very well-being are under direct assault. Reach out to your elected representatives and tell them to fight back against the illegal, unconstitutional actions taken by Musk and the Trump administration.

Please talk to your friends, family, loved ones and neighbors, find out what you can do, and get busy.

Starting at $4.62/week.
