Enjoy the four seasons of U.P.
To the Journal editor:
With the recent hurricane in Florida and the other southeastern states, a lot of damage and lives were lost. Also, tornadoes in the Midwest and the hot weather in a lot of the southern states.
“Climate change is real” so I will go through our four seasons. Now it is the fall season. It offers a lot of beauty. The leaves change color, also the bugs are gone, cooler temperatures and the air gets fresher.
There are no smoky skies and the roads are still dry so get out and enjoy the fall season.
Next is our winter season. Many people think of it as a dismal time but stop and look — short days and cold snow but stop and look at the good about winter. The first snowfall, white and clean; the air is fresh and clean.
If you can, find time to be out skiing or many other winter activities. Of course, it’s Christmas time and the new year. A lot of things go on to enjoy with family and friends. So, take each day and enjoy our winter season. Then before you know it, it’s our next great season of spring. It’s when nature awakens, flowers come out, leaves come back on the trees and the daylight hours begin to get longer. The snow will melt away and driving on dry roads will come again.
So, it’s a great time to see more beauty in our Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Then our great season of summer — the long days of light and all the flowers and leaves on the trees. Most of all, warm temperatures. There are so many things to do outdoors such as biking, walking in the many areas we have to do that.
Get out and sit on your deck, make sure to get outside in the great summer weather. So, with that, I say it’s a great place to call home.
Get out of your chair and enjoy our four seasons while you still can and for me, I do thank the Lord for living in God’s country, our someplace special, the U.P. of Michigan.
