National Library Week upcoming
National Library Week is next week and we encourage everyone who has an opportunity to visit their local library.
The 2025 theme for National Library Week is “Drawn to the Library” and will be used to celebrate and highlight the roles that libraries and those who work at the beloved institutions play in building and strengthening the communities where they reside.
Everywhere you go, local libraries are much more than just a collection of books. Libraries are home to activities, classes, art shows, live music and so much more. Beyond that, maybe their most important role is as a community gathering place. Anyone with a toddler in the Marquette area will tell you that Peter White Public Library is a godsend for parents and little ones. Whether its meeting new friends or just an excuse to get out of the house when the weather is bad, the library is always there.
Ishpeming’s Carnegie Public Library will be hosting special events throughout the week to celebrate.
Here are the announced events that the library will host during National Library Week:
≤ 11 a.m. Tuesday, there will be Tot Tuesday preschool storytime.
≤ 4 p.m. Wednesday, Marilena Corradino will teach Italian in a casual conversation format.
≤ 5 p.m. Wednesday, Crochet Club will meet for both beginning and experienced crocheters to begin or continue personal projects. Instruction will be provided for those who are new to crochet.
