Shirley Lehtomaki

MARQUETTE, MI- Shirley Jean Lehtomaki, age 78, of Marquette, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at home, in the loving, comforting care of her family and UP Home Health and Hospice.
Born on March 8, 1947 in Marquette, the daughter of Raymond and Evelyn (Bolduc) Hillier, Shirley was raised in Marquette and graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1965. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, Lloyd Lehtomaki, on October 14, 1967. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their family in Marquette.
Shirley’s work life included time with Dr. Bruce Micklow, the Clothes Closet, and eventually Goodwill Industries, before retiring in 2008.
Shirley found joy in the simple pleasures of life — taking daily walks with Lloyd, feeding ducks at the park, tending to her flower garden, and baking sweet treats for her family. She loved putting together puzzles, watching the cardinals at her bird feeder, and never passed up a trip to the casino. But above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.
Known for her generous heart, thoughtful spirit, and kind nature, Shirley touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Lloyd Lehtomaki; children: Tracie (Pete) O’Dovero of Michigamme, Glenn (Billi Jo) Lehtomaki of Marquette, and Randy (Missy) Lehtomaki of Marquette; grandchildren: Joel and Jonas Revord, Ciara O’Dovero, Mikayla (Dakota) Alexander, Tyler and Myra Lehtomaki; and great-grandchildren: Cashtyn Lehtomaki and Caius Alexander.
She also leaves behind her brothers: David, Daniel, Dennis, Howard, Terrance, Joseph, and Timothy Hillier; and sisters: Kathleen Schultz, Lynn Larson, and Beverly Certo.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Thomas, Walter, and Charles Hillier.
Honoring Shirley’s request, a private family memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her husband, Lloyd Lehtomaki, 210 Newberry Street, Marquette, MI 49855.
