Ricky Zorza

Rick was born on April 8, 1957 in Marquette, the son of Arnold and Helen (Meyers) Zorza. Rick was raised in Marquette and graduated from Marquette Senior High School.

Rick was employed at the former Moose Lodge for many years before becoming a member of the Asbestos Workers Local 127. He worked for his brother and sister-in-law at U.P. Insulation, Inc. from 1988-2007 and was then employed with other companies until his retirement.

He married Linda Ward in September of 2000 in Marquette and together they enjoyed spending time playing cards, visiting family and friends and occasionally taking a trip to Florida or Texas. He was a member of the former Moose Lodge, American Legion and Elks Club where he and Linda enjoyed playing in cribbage leagues. Rick enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at camp. He also enjoyed watching sports, bowling and golfing. He played in the Elks golf league with his brother, Jimmer, at the Chocolay Downs golf course. Rick was also an avid Detroit Lions fan.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Zorza; stepson, Jason Ward; sister, Sandra Kivela; brother, James (Jayne) Zorza; nieces, Wendy (Bill) Bollenberg, Jennifer (Mike) Marietta, and Jill (Preston) Maki; nephew, Rob Kivela; great nephew, Matthew Marietta; great nieces, Haylie Marietta, Kaylee Bollenberg, Callie and Charli Maki; and his dog, Buddy.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Helen “Bunny” Zorza and brother-in-law, Bruce Kivela.

The family would like to thank MediLodge of Munising for the care and comfort provided to Rick during his time with them and to his niece, Wendy, for her help in getting him home to the U.P. after a short stay down in Detroit. We are beyond grateful to you.

A celebration of Ricky’s life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at American Legion Post 44 from 1 until 4 p.m.
