Phil Colvin
BURTON, MI-Phil Colvin, age 75, former long time Ishpeming resident passed away on Sunday April 20, 2025, while in the loving care of family and staff members of LaVigne Home, after a long courageous battle with lung cancer and COPD complications.
Phil was an ironworker for Local 783, Marquette then Local 8 out of Milwaukee, WI. He loved being an ironworker but had to retire early from health problems. Phil enjoyed fishing, woodworking and time with family during retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of Lapeer, MI, son Rich (Catherine) Colvin of Oxford, MI. daughter Jodie (Larry) Colvin of Deland, FL, a brother George of the Philippines, brother-in-law Jerry Ahtonen of Ishpeming, MI, special nephew Jeff (Jamie) Solka, Ishpeming, MI, and Kitty the cat, as well as many nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Louise and 4 brothers, Larry, Hayes, Chuck and Donald, as well as Twoey the cat.
Per Phils wishes he was cremated. A gathering and celebration of life will be held at a later date in Ishpeming, MI.
