Kenneth Zeug

GWINN, MI-Kenneth J. (Bud) Zeug, 86, of Gwinn, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice.
Bud was born on April 5, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN to Michael and Leona (Horner) Zeug. He was a 1957 graduate of Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, MN. Bud also took college courses at the University of Maryland.
Bud married the former Frances M. End on April 11, 1959 in Hopkins, MN. Together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.
Bud enlisted in the United States Air Force and spent 25 years in the service, retiring in 1982 as an administrative specialist. Bud and his wife, Frances, were the owners of Superior Awards and Engraving in Gwinn for many years.
Bud was an active member of the VFW, American Legion, Forsyth Singers, Gwinn Chamber of Commerce and Business Associates. He was a former Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed gardening and farming.
Bud is survived by his wife, Frances Zeug of Gwinn; three children, Kenneth J. (Debra) Zeug Jr. of Skandia, MI, David (Renee) Zeug of Little Lake, MI and Laura (Peter) Evans of Gwinn; nine grandchildren, Daniel (Allie) Zeug, Jessica (Ryan) Heidtman, Jason Swenty, Luke (Mag) Swenty, Jacob Patterson, Bo Zeug, Gabe Zeug, Peter Evans II and Emily Evans; six great-grandchildren, Kylie Zeug, Celeste Zeug, Bree Zeug, Tommy Pegenau, Charlotte Heidtman and Carolyn Zeug; two siblings, Thomas (Marlene) Zeug of Schoolcraft, MI and Lorna (Michael) Sainz of Gainesville, FL; and special long-time family friend, Jacob Harnick.
Besides his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret, Barbara, Rosie, Maggy, Louise, Katherine, Elizabeth, Agnes and Michael.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Canale Gwinn Funeral Home from 11 am until 1 pm. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Sebastian Oppong officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Little Lake American Legion and United States Air Force. A reception will follow in the Lindeman Reception Room. Interment will take place at a later date in the West Branch Township Cemetery.
