Diana Petrosky

SAINT MICHAEL, MN- Diana Christine (Denn) Petrosky, age 74, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family and caregivers on April 17, 2025. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Diana was born on August 14, 1950, to Paul Donald and Patricia Eileen (Cargo) Denn in Marquette, Michigan, the first of six children. Soon after, the family moved downstate to Birmingham, and later to Troy, where Diana attended Holy Name Catholic School and Marian Catholic High School. She was a Blue Bird and a Campfire Girl, attended Camp Wathana every summer through grade school, and made many happy memories with childhood friends who remained dear to Diana throughout her life. Her vibrant personality and silly sense of humor endeared her to friends and family alike. Diana’s family returned to the Upper Peninsula regularly to visit grandparents and to enjoy their camp on Lake Michigamme.
Diana attended Oakland University and Michigan State University, where she graduated in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. With an adventurous spirit, Diana moved to Arizona to begin a career teaching first grade at Litchfield Elementary School. There she met her husband, Joseph âPeteã Edward Petrosky, who fell in love with Diana at first sight. The couple was married on August 2, 1980, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Troy, Michigan, and returned to Phoenix, where they shared their early life together. When Diana and Pete were blessed with two children, Diana retired from teaching to be a stay-at-home mom. She devoted the rest of her life to loving and caring for her family, and was an active member of the Moms ‘n’ Tots mothers’ group at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Phoenix.
In December 1990, the family moved to Almont, Michigan, where Diana remained involved in supporting their children’s clubs and activities. Diana was a woman of prayer who faithfully interceded for her husband, children, grandchildren, and many relatives and friends. She also enjoyed music, sewing, cross-stitch, photography, camping, and gardening. The family home was surrounded by beautiful, well-tended gardens. Diana enjoyed baking with and for her children, a tradition carried on with her grandchildren. There was always a tin of cookies or muffins to be shared at Nana and Papa’s house. When their son Jon began his career and bought a house not too far away, Diana enjoyed helping him maintain his home and gardens.
When Diana’s health began to decline, Pete made the decision to move them to be near their daughter Stefany and her family in Minnesota. Pete found a home in Saint Michael and they moved in March of 2023. Diana and Pete treasured the time spent with their grandchildren, including weekly pizza parties and lots of family celebrations.
Diana is survived by her husband, Joseph (Pete) Petrosky; son Jonathan Petrosky; daughter Stefany (Chris) Beyer and five grandchildren; siblings Jackie (Marty Calden) Denn, Colleen (John) Leonard, Michael (Ruth Bucsh) Denn, Susan (John) Taube; and five nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her brother Paul (Peter) Denn, Jr.; mother Patricia (Cargo) Denn, father Paul Denn, and stepmother Dorothy (Peterson) Denn.
