Curtis Hosking

ISHPEMING, MI – Curtis Eugene Hosking passed away on April 8, 2025 at the age of 82 , after a short stay at MediLodge of Munising.

Curtis was born on June 5, l942, the son of Eugene and Dorothy Hosking, and lived in Ishpeming for most of his life. Curtis graduated from Ishpeming High School and Northern Michigan University.

Curtis loved sports. He played football and basketball for Ishpeming High School and had fond memories of those years. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and traveled downstate for several of their games. He also was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed watching their games on tv. He loved to hunt and fish with his dad and had many stories of their time together in the woods and at their camp at Petticoat Lake. Curtis was a lifelong member of the Bethany Lutheran Church.

Curtis was blessed with a beautiful voice. He loved to sing. While attending the University of Michigan he was a member of The Michigan Men’s Glee Club. He toured Europe one summer where the Club gave concerts in many European cities. He loved Karaoke. He especially favored Frank Sinatra songs and loved to sing New York, New York and many others. He was also a lover of classical music.

Curtis leaves a loving family who cherish their memories of time spent with him. His family includes his sister, Trudie Seablom of Rochester Hills, MI, his nephews Kirk Seablom (Linda), Dean Seablom (Kathy),and his niece Kim Strouse.

He was predeceased by his nephew, Darren Seablom. He also leaves many great nieces and nephews who loved their time spent with Uncle Curtis and three special cousins: Cheryl Rognerud (Walt), Charlotte Olmstead and Gary Sundblad.

Curtis will be cremated and a memorial service will be held in the future.
