Charles Marcotte Sr.

ISHPEMING TWP, MI- Charles V. “Chuck” Marcotte Sr., age 94, longtime Ishpeming Twp. resident, passed away on Thursday December 5, 2024 at the Eastwood Nursing Center while in the loving care of his family, nursing home staff, and UP Home Health and Hospice.

Charles was born in Turin Twp., MI on April 15, 1930, son of the late Henry and Agnes (Gauthier) Marcotte. He married his late wife, Patricia Anderson on April 25, 1953 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ishpeming. Chuck worked at A. Lindberg and Son’s for 42 years and was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 324. He enjoyed blowing snow and cutting grass, always willing to help out his neighbors.

Chuck is survived by three children; Charlene Lusardi, Charles (Kristen) Marcotte, Jr. and Peter Marcotte, 5 grandchildren; Toni Lee (Andrew) Foster, Andrew (Bri) Lusardi, Payton Marcotte, Nathan Marcotte, Chesney Lusardi, 6 great grandchildren; Tristan, MaKayla, and Charity Lusardi, Declan, Seamus, and Ainsley Foster, sisters and brothers- Ruth LeRoy, Marion Randall, Mae Williams, Margaret (Dave) Johnson, Allen (Bonnie) Marcotte, Robert (Kathy) Marcotte, Bernard (Deanette) Marcotte, Donald (Shirley) Marcotte, a sister-in-law- Klista (Randy) Gayle, family friend- Jerry Ahtonen and several nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, wife- Patricia Marcotte, sisters – Jane Santora, Armine Libby, brothers Louis, Roger and Johnny Marcotte, and most recently passed was his sister Barbara Hilliker on January 18, 2025.

Chuck’s family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am until 11:00am on Friday April 4, 2025 at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Larry Van Damme celebrating. A luncheon will follow in the K/D Hall. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.

Chuck’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Eastwood Nursing Center, and UP Home Health and Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Chuck while he was there.
