Bonnie Ely
COTTAGE GROVE, MN- Bonnie L Ely of Cottage Grove, Minnesota was called to heaven on March 31st, 2025 at the home of her youngest daughter and son-in-law. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Bonnie was born December 6th, 1950 to Orland and Rhea (Kippola) Powelson in Munising, Michigan. Bonnie met her soul mate Jerry Ely in 1962 and in 1967 became his loving bride for the next 53 years. Together they took their greatest pride in raising their 3 loving children.
Bonnie prided herself in being a stay-at-home mom and being self employed by owning and operating Ely’s Cleaning service. She will be remembered as the most loving Mom, Nana and Great Nana. Also, as the Queen of Aggravation and Bouncing Balls.
Bonnie is survived by her three children: Mark (Nikki) Ely of Green Bay Wisconsin, Amy (David) Chard of Maple Plain, Minnesota, and Rhea (Richard) Longcor of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, six Grandchildren: Rachel Chard, Makayla Hoeft, Matt Chard, Kassie Longcor, Elizabeth Ely, and Ethan Ely, three Great Grandchildren: Eleanor, Ezra, and Roland, Brother: Phil (Pat) Powelson, Sister-in-law: Shirley Powelson, and four Godchildren: Jason, Gayle, Damion, and Waldo.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her loving husband Jerry Ely, parents Orland and Rhea (Kippola) Powelson, mother-in-law Marie Ely, father-in-law Waldo Ely, and her brother Don Powelson.
