William Lehto
NEGAUNEE TWP, MI-William John ‘Billy’ Lehto, 77, of Negaunee Township, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at UP Health System in Marquette.
Billy was born April 17, 1947 in Ishpeming to William A. and Helen M. (Alto) Lehto, graduated from Negaunee High School and was a lifelong Negaunee resident. He joined the Job Corps in the 1960’s and worked in Marenisco. He also worked at skills center in Marquette and as a custodian at the Landmark Inn, Marquette.
Billy was a loving and generous brother who enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed reading and watching his favorite TV programs, especially science fiction shows.
Surviving are his siblings: June Prusi of Republic, Alfred Lehto of Negaunee, and Carol Rankinen and Richard Lehto, both of Negaunee Township; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Carl Lehto; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Billy’s wishes, no public services will be held.
