MARQUETTE, MI-Tammy Joan Riggie, age 66, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 25, 1958, in Menominee, Michigan, Tammy grew up in the Marquette-Harvey area and made her life in the Marquette community.

A proud graduate of Marquette Senior High School, Class of 1976, Tammy married Eugene Greenleaf shortly after graduation. Together they raised their children, creating many family memories. Throughout her life, Tammy was actively involved in her community, working at various local businesses, including Peninsula Bank, Econo Floral, The Garden Room, and Walstrom’s Restaurant. Later in life, she married Greg Riggie, with whom she shared her life until his passing in 2016.

Tammy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed visits to the casino, and loved playing bingo. A devout traditional Catholic, Tammy’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness. Among her favorite memories were days spent at the river house on the Chocolay River with her beloved sister.

Tammy is survived by her loving children, Lauralee (Dan) Clement of Marquette and Jesse (Ruby) Greenleaf of Chippewa Falls, WI; cherished grandchildren, Lauren (Ben) Luke, Wyatt Clement, Ella Clement, and Adrian Greenleaf; stepson, Jake Riggie; step-grandchildren, triplets Jordyn, Raegan, and Kaylee Riggie; siblings, Susan (Frank) Shaft, Linda Bolton, and Bruce Welch; and numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Shore; her second husband, Greg Riggie; and her sister, Lois Vasseau.

In honor of Tammy’s generous spirit, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Upper Peninsula Health Systems Marquette, 7th floor, Dr. Butcher, Dr. Schaff, Dr. Acharya, and Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care.
