Margaret Eyck

LA HABRA, CA- Margaret Ann Ten Eyck, lovingly known as Margie, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 7, 1938, in Ruthven, Iowa, to William and Beulah Brennan. The youngest of six children, Margie grew up on her family’s farm, where she developed a strong work ethic and a love for family.

After graduating from high school in 1957, Margie pursued her passion for helping others by enrolling in nursing school. In 1960, she earned her nursing degree and soon moved to Southern California, where she began a long and fulfilling career with Kaiser Permanente in 1961. Her dedication and compassion as a nurse spanned 46 years until her well-earned retirement in 2007.

In 1965, Margie met the love of her life, George Frederick Ten Eyck. The two married shortly afterward and built a beautiful life together in Cerritos, California. They shared 59 years of marriage and raised two children, Margie Ann (Mohler) and George Brennan.

Margie had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for music, dancing, and cooking. Her passion for travel took her to over 45 countries across five continents, creating cherished memories along the way. However, her greatest joy came from being a devoted and loving grandmother to her four grandchildren: George Ten Eyck, Patrick Ten Eyck, Richard Ten Eyck, and Victoria Ten Eyck.

Margie’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Beulah (Lueken) Brennan; and brothers William Brennan, Tom Brennan and sisters Mary Jean Gibson, Dorothea Rosacker and Kathleen Frederick.

She is survived by her beloved husband, George; her daughter, Margie (Ken Mohler); her son, George (Amanda Groover Ten Eyck); and her adored grandchildren. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.

Her final resting place will be at Powell Township Cemetery in Big Bay Michigan at a later date.
