ROCHESTER, MN/MARQUETTE, MI- Kenneth Charles Schwemin, 81 of Marquette, MI died Monday, February 24, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus, Rochester, MN with his family and special niece by his side.
Kenny was born April 7, 1943 in Marquette, MI to Charles Schwemin and Agnes (Pleau) Wilson. He graduated from Bishop Baraga High School in 1961. On October 21, 1967 he married Susan Kivimaki at St. Christopher’s Church and the couple lived in Marquette. Kenny was employed by Marquette Area Public Schools for many years.
Kenny had a passion for snowmobiling, helping family and friends working on items that needed fixing. We called him “the fix it man”.
He is survived by his wife Susan Schwemin, son Mike, daughters Mindy (David) Zorza, Melinda Gooding, and grandson Sidney Gooding and special niece Cheryl (George) Cowell.
He is predeceased by his mother and father, sister Mary (Robert) Grimes, brothers Paul (Nancy) Schwemin and John Schwemin.
Celebration of Life will be held on March 29, 2025 at Barrel + Beam from 12pm to 2pm. Please join us in the celebration for Ken.
