WYOMING, MI- Jackie (Mariner) Thomas, age 78, of Wyoming, MI, formerly of Marquette, MI passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Frank; and sister, Barbara Butrick.
Jackie is survived by her children, Cynthia (Gary) Charnesky, Christine (Howard) Slugocki, Robyn (Tony) VanDorp, Michael (Holly) Newkirk, Patrick (Melissa) Newkirk; grandchildren, Brandon (Allison) Charnesky, Amanda Charnesky, Eric (Jasmine) Charnesky, Mackenzie VanDorp, Benjamin VanDorp, Samantha Newkirk, 13 great-grandchildren, sister, Sandra Bala; brother, Tim (Pat) Mariner; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, from 1 – 2 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, where the Celebration of Life service will begin at 2 PM with a luncheon to follow. Pastor Joan Cornelison will officiate. Private interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Jackie may be made to United Way of Marquette County, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
