Allan Meeves

Al was born on July 1, 1941 at home in Arion, IA to Louis and Loretta (Schlitz) Meeves. Al attended a country school until the family moved to Logan, IA, where he graduated from Logan High School with the class of 1959. After high school, Al enlisted in the military and served his country until he retired. Al was stationed at many bases throughout the world and did a tour of duty in Vietnam.

Al married Lois Jean Richer on June 6, 1976 in Marquette.

Al worked as an electronics technician for TV6 and Q107-WMQT for a number of years. He was a member of St. Peter Cathedral and the ARRL Amateur Radio Association.

In his spare time, Al enjoyed drawing and sketching, he was an avid runner and especially enjoyed his ham radio. He enjoyed his family and spending time with them and shared a special bond with two of his grandchildren, Max and Olivia.

Al is survived by his brother, Larry (Patty) Meeves of Council Bluffs, IA; children, Debbie (Dan) Dagenais of Marquette, Jim (Keiko) Wagner of Henderson, NV, Mike (Peggy) Wagner of Traverse City, MI and Tricia (Chris) Mancini of Marquette; 14 grandchildren, Andrea (Jay) Parent, Erika (Keith) LaCosse, Katie (Tanner) Wagner, Dan (Amy) Dagenais, Alec Wagner, Myiana Wagner, Sydney Wagner, Kai Wagner, Libby (Ben) Woolworth, Andrew (Courtney) Wagner, Erik (Megan) Hornbogen, Kate (Mike) Young and Max Hornbogen; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois Richer Meeves; brother, Donald and wife, Ruth; and sister, Patricia Clark.

Services for Al will be held at a later date and will be announced.
