Noreen Hinchin

MARQUETTE, MI- Noreen Elaine Hinchen, age 89, of Marquette, passed away February 18, 2025 at Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette.

Noreen was born May 15, 1935 in Port Huron, MI to George and Dorothy (Wehrwein) Langolf. She was the nineth of twelve children.

Noreen married Marvin A. Hinchen on April 4, 1959. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1964.

Prior to losing her eyesight to Macular, she enjoyed reading, walking and quilting. Her main passion was bowling, hanging out and taking trips with her bowling buddies.

Noreen worked as an executive secretary for State Farm Insurance prior to working for the City of Port Huron in the City Clerk’s office. She retired in November of 1998.

Noreen is survived by her son, Eric (Kurstin) Hinchen; three granddaughters, Krysti (Christian) Jones, Ilene Katrina Hinchen and Keely Hinchen; three great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Jules and Jasper; two sisters, Judy Avers and Selma Redpath; two sisters-in-law, Lois Langolf and Mary Lou Langolf; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothy Langolf; her husband, Marvin Hinchen; and her siblings and their spouses.

In accordance with Noreen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no visitation or services will be held.

A special thank you to the staff of Norlite Nursing Center where Noreen has been for over two years following a stroke. Their hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated.
