Nick LaMere
SOUTH REPUBLIC, MI- Nick LaMere, 79, of South Republic, passed away Tuesday evening, February 18, 2025 at UP Health System Bell while in the care of his loving family.
Nick was born November 2, 1945 in Ishpeming to Alvin and Gertrude (Aho) LaMere and graduated from Negaunee High School. He was employed as a truck driver for his father-in-law’s business, Donald J. Larson and Sons Trucking.
Nick enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, hunting, blueberry picking and gardening with his wife. He was avid with metal detecting and coin collecting. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his daughters: Lisa (Clayton) Maxwell and Brenda Nault, both of Ishpeming; sons: Bill (Krista) LaMere of Wisconsin and Nicholas LaMere; grandchildren: Micheal Nault, Samantha (Tyler) Lapointe, Shawn (Amanda) Peterson, Brandon Peterson, Megan and Alex LaMere, and Lexi Thibeault; great-grandchildren: Savannah, Sabrina, Emmett, Derrick, Dylan, Loki and Peyton; his sisters: Dorothy Grimes and Anne Bengry; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 44 years, Vickie (Larson) LaMere; and his brothers, Jim and Paul LaMere.
A Celebration of Nick’s Life and potluck meal will be held from 2-4 pm on Tuesday, February 25th at the Ishpeming Township Hall.
