June Davis

FLINT TWP, MI- June was born on June 23, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, and died peacefully after a long illness on February 11, 2025, in Flint Township, Michigan.
June grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. June attended St. Clair Shores High School where she met her future husband, Peter Davis. After graduating from high school, June studied nursing at the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit. June later studied History and Archeology at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. June also received a master’s degree in nursing from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan.
June worked as a nurse for many years while raising a family and eventually taught nursing at Kirtland Community College in Grayling, Michigan, Northern Michigan University, and Bay De Noc Community College in Escanaba, Michigan. June was passionate about nursing and loved passing on her wisdom to a new generation of nurses.
After retirement, June spent many years traveling the country, reconnecting with friends, making new friends, and having adventures, first with Peter and then with other members of her family and friends. June loved traveling and meeting new people and always welcomed new experiences. June cherished time spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. June also loved spending time at home in Marquette, gardening, bird watching, attending church at St. Paul’s, and being part of the community.
June is survived by daughters Catherine (Richard) Halverson and Amy Davis and son Adam (Christina) Davis, grandchildren Richard Halverson, Jessica and Jennifer Davis, and Zollie Davis-Huntley, great-granddaughter Allison June Halverson, and brother John Miles. June is also survived by nephews John, Greg, and James and nieces Susan and Jennifer, and their children.
June was preceded in death by husband Peter Davis, brother James Miles, niece Jean Miles, Mother Ella (Smith) Miles, and Father John Miles.
A memorial celebration will be held on April 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The address is 1480 E Hill Rd, Grand Blanc Twp, MI 48439.
