Gary Dagenais

Gary had a very hard fight battling stomach, lung and brain cancer for 2 long years. He did not give up hope he was resilient and continued the fight. He gave it everything he had. Cancer sucks.

God saw you were tired; a cure was not to be. Gary’s journey has ended on earth.

On December 26, 2024, his new journey began in heaven, no longer suffering no longer in pain he is free and in the loving arms of his mother.

Gary was born on January 14, 1964 in Marquette Michigan son of Mary Catherine (Ritari) Smith and Neil Dagenais.

Preceded in death by his parents Mary Catherine (Ritari) Smith, Billy R Smith and Neil J Dagenais.

Gary graduated high school and was a brick mason. Gary enjoyed collecting cars, going to the lake, and cooking for his family and friends. Watching the old western movies and football. Going to the casino and of course eating at the buffet.

Gary was very close with his sister Lori. She was his best friend. He would always tell her he knew she had his back no matter what. He enjoyed spending time with his sister Lori and brother-in-law Tim.

Gary leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 37 years Stella Dagenais. Daughter Amanda McPherson, sister Lori and husband Timothy R Betz of Fayetteville North Carolina. Brothers Michael (Robyn) Dagenais, Billy (Deborah) Smith, Tony (Deann) Smith all of Texas, brother-in-law Joe Solis, sister-in-law Lucy Quensbury. Numerous nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts extended family and friends.

Our hearts are broken but we know he is no longer suffering; his memories will last a lifetime.
