Charles Anderson

LITTLE LAKE, MI- Charles’ years long battle with cancer and pain is over and he is free.
Charles R. “Chuck” Anderson, 71, of Little Lake passed away Tuesday morning, February 11, 2025, at UP Health System-Marquette.
He was born January 19, 1954, in Marquette, a son of Carl and May (Setter) Anderson. He was a 1972 graduate of Gwinn High School and was a lifelong area resident.
Chuck was employed by multiple employers in the Marquette county area forging many connections with people he worked with before taking a job at CCI, working as a shovel mechanic for 32 years retiring in 2011.
He was a member of United Steel Workers Local 4950. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing and gardening.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Jessica D. (Beisner) Anderson of Little Lake, whom he married on August 16, 2007; children, Jeremy Anderson and Amanda Anderson; brother, Dale Anderson; sister, Shirley and Russell Westman; numerous nieces and nephews and several second cousins; and his “adopted boys”, all Jeremy’s friends, whom he always made sure they had a meal and a warm place to sleep.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and May Anderson; his big brother, Donald Anderson; and sister in law, Lynn Anderson; and his best four legged friend, Tripp.
He was the kind of man that whoever he met knew he was a great man, he was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and you knew he would just after getting to know him shortly after meeting him! He had a special way with animals. Any animal he was in contact with would gravitate towards him no matter what, they somehow knew he had a kind soul. He loved to go fishing with his best friend of many years, Mike Barrett, also an avid deer hunter and gardener. He always had a huge garden growing every spring no matter how busy his life was. No matter where he was in his life he would always take the time to come home to his family’s homestead farm to care for the land. He loved cutting trees down in the woods to make sure there was always enough wood to keep the house warm during the winter months. He was a family oriented man and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held in the summer.
