Susan Treder
ESCANABA, MI- Susan F. Treder, 75, of Escanaba, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
The former Susan Del Priorie was born on December 4, 1949 in Chicago, IL, daughter of Carmen Rocco and Margaret Jane (Cleaves) Del Priorie. She attended Bogan High School and graduated in 1967. She then attended Gogebic Community College.
She worked for the Manistique Health Department, as well as an aide at Stepping Stone Adult Foster Care in Manistique. Along with working in respite care, Susan worked as a special education aide at the Escanaba High School until her retirement in 2017.
On December 18, 1993, Susan married Michael Treder in Ironwood, MI. They spent 19 loving years together before Michael’s passing in 2012.
Susan loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an artist and illustrated a book with her best friend. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles, spending time with all of her family and she had a true passion for animals. Having such a large heart, Susan would open her home to anyone who needed it. Her friends and family will miss her compassion and wonderful sense of humor. Susan was one of the most selfless people you could meet.
Among survivors include her daughter, Jenn (Matt) Perry of Negaunee; step-children, Ian Treder of Skandia, Kyle (Cristie) Treder of Gwinn, and Steve (Tami) Treder of Saint Paul, MN; grandchildren, Isabella, Addi, Charli, and Lily Perry, Sophia, and Benjamin Treder, Max, Linnea, Micaela, and Logan Treder; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie and Mike Hahn of Ironwood; many loving nieces and nephews; along with special friends Mary and Mark McCune, Dave Varino, and Mary Valiquette.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; siblings, Carm Del Priorie and Geri Lombardo; and father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Larue Treder.
A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the OSF ICU staff, especially Dr. Wael Khouli, and nurses Ambria, April, and Jen.
