Renee Liquia
NOVI, MI- Renee Joann Liquia, born on August 2, 1958, in Ishpeming, Michigan, passed away on January 9, 2025, in Novi, Michigan.
Renee was a kind, loving, and empathetic soul who dedicated her life to her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life–babysitting her five cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Shannon, Madison, Bentley, and Ella, and spending quality time with her family. Renee loved playing card games and video games, often using these activities as a way to connect and laugh with loved ones.
Renee’s proudest accomplishments were rooted in her family. She took immense pride in her three children, Shannon, Michael, and Adam, and her daughters-in-law, Shelley and Jessica. Later in life, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a grandmother and found great joy in helping to raise her grandchildren, creating memories they will treasure forever.
Renee graduated from Negaunee High School and began her career in retail. She later worked at a family shelter in Escanaba, demonstrating her empathetic and caring nature. After many years of dedication in the workforce, she retired and embraced her favorite role as a grandmother.
Renee is survived by her sons, Michael Liquia (wife Shelley) and Adam Liquia (wife Jessica); her siblings, Connie Champion, Wendy Champion, Paula Connors, Dennis Connors, and Troy Connors.
She is predeceased by her beloved daughter Shannon Liquia, her mother Joann Connors, and her father Wayne Connors.
Described as friendly, goofy, and loving, Renee brought light to every room she entered. She was deeply loved by her children, grandchildren, and her extended family back in the Upper Peninsula.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service begins at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Church in Negaunee.
