Paul Kish
ISHPEMING, MI- Paul Stephen Kish, age 75, Ishpeming resident passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette while in the loving care of his wife Kathy, U.P. Home Health and Hospice and staff at Norlite.
Paul was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 15, 1949, a son of the late Dorothy Jean (Lark) and Stephen Thomas Kish. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Redford, Michigan and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Detroit.
Paul worked as a bank examiner for the State of Michigan- Department of Commerce for many years and retired as a car salesman from Newberry Motors.
Paul and Kathy enjoyed their time living in Curtis, MI on Big Manistique Lake spending time on their pontoon boat, also wintering in Surprise, AZ where he enjoyed his pool and golfing. Paul was an avid Lions and Red Wings fan, and a University of Michigan Football fan, being a season ticket holder for 30 years. He was a member of the Wawonowin Country Club and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming.
Paul is survived by his wife Kathy (Norell) Kish, whom he married on June 20, 1981, a sister Christine Hartman (Bob Reisberg) of St. Paul, MN, a brother, Kenneth (Pat) Kish of Rochester Hills, MI, sisters-in laws; Karen (Jerry) Plaisier of Ishpeming, Bunny Norell of Bluffton, SC and Mary Thielen of Marinette, WI, nieces and nephews; Bryan, Grant, Mark, Matthew, Alan, Steven, Kerry, Mark, Jenny, Brett, along with several great nieces and great nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Stephen Kish, his in-laws, Reno and Sue Norell, and brother-in-law Bruce Norell.
A private graveside service for Paul will be held at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
