Louis J. Bonnetti

APPLETON, WI- Louis J. Bonetti Jr. of Appleton, WI passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025.

Louis was born July 12, 1940 in Ishpeming, MI the son of Louis “Geno” Bonetti and Helen (Senobe) Bonetti. He grew up in Ishpeming and later lived in Marquette, Chicago and has lived in Appleton since 2000. He was a graduate of St. Paul’s High School in Negaunee and Northern Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Arts Degree. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and was a U.S. Army National Guard Veteran. He was a Detroit only sports fanatic.

His passion was playing the guitar and harmonica and enjoyed playing in various cities at various venues throughout his lifetime. He began his work history at age 13 at the family business The Congress Bar and Pizza. Throughout his life, Louis worked in several different cities at several occupations. Louis definitely enjoyed the gypsy/hippie lifestyle he pursued during his lifetime.

Louis was proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother-in-law Ben Bray Sr., nephew and godson Ben Bray Jr.

He is survived by his sister Bonita Bray of Ishpeming, Sandra (Bud) Goodnight of Newport Richey, Florida, daughter Gwen, grandson Carter, granddaughter Ali, 3 nephews, 4 nieces, many great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Louis will be cremated and laid to rest next to his parents in the Ishpeming Cemetery. There will not be a funeral or formal ceremony. When you can, raise up a glass and cheers to your old friend-he’d appreciate that.

A note from Louis: “For any inconsiderate or hurtful things that I did to anyone during my days on Earth, I ask for your forgiveness. But you know something…I’ve always loved everyone, even those who didn’t like or love me. So, to all of you I’ve left behind, think of me from time to time. Say a prayer or two for me like I always did for thee. My spirit will remain eternally grateful for the consideration, kindness, love and forgiveness you all shared with me. Peace be with you.
