James Massey

Jim was born October 21, 1946 in Munising to Bernard and Mildred (Goings) Massey and graduated from Munising High School, Class of 1964. He was employed with Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company as a maintenance repairman, retiring in 1997 with over 31 years of service with the company.

Mr. Massey was a faithful volunteer at the USW Local 4950 Union Hall in Negaunee. He was an avid league bowler in younger years, and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino where he would visit with friends. Most importantly, he enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandson.

Surviving are his children: Brent Massey and Jodi (Matt) Haight, both of Escanaba; grandson, River Haight; his sister, Louise (Ronald) Kunick of Ludington; and brother-in-law, Richard Salo of Escanaba.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Vicki Ann (Salo) Massey on December 23, 2023; and a brother, Arthur Massey.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 18th at Koskey Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
