Ada Ruohomaki

GLADSTONE, MI- Ada Louise Ruohomaki, age 86, of Gladstone, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Transitions Assisted Living in Gladstone.

Ada was born September 29, 1938 in Marquette the daughter of Charles and Ada (Eastley) Boyle. She was united in marriage to Leslie “Les” Ruohomaki on October 25, 1958 in Marquette. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone.

Ada is survived by her children, Ron (Denise) Ruohomaki of Escanaba, Gary (Tracey) Ruohomaki of Green Bay, WI, Julie (Don) Moberg of Escanaba and Maria (Rick) Gasco of Gladstone; seven grandchildren, Chase, Chelsey, Ashley, Megan, Kayla, Ben and Morgan; six great grandchildren; her sister, Kathy (Dan) Pompo of Marquette; sisters-in-law Judy, Carol, and Lisa Boyle and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leslie, and her siblings, Jack Boyle, Tom (Katie) Boyle, Herb Boyle, Doug Boyle, Nancy (Rudy) Mosca, and Mary DeMerse.

Ada grew up in and loved the Tourist Park in Marquette. In 1973, Ada and her husband moved to Gladstone where they have resided since then. Ada was very active in All Saints Church as an usher and volunteer. Ada and her husband loved to go camping and spent many years as the campground host at Van Riper State Park. Ada assisted in fundraising and developing the new children’s playground at the park. Ada enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family and friends. She was an excellent baker and an avid reader.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 7 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 PM at All Saints Church in Gladstone. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall. Ada will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Marquette.
