Judy Browne

MARQUETTE, MI – Judy A. Browne, 80, of Marquette, entered into the presence of her Lord, Friday, November 29, 2024, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Judy was born on March 15, 1944, in Albion, Michigan, to William and Girlene (Warstler) Beers. She was raised in Albion and graduated from Albion High School in 1962. Following her graduation, she pursued a degree in Medical Technology at Michigan State University, graduating in 1966.

Her career began at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan, and later took her to Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira, New York. Judy then moved to Colorado Springs, where she worked at CommonSpirit Penrose Hospital.

On August 28, 1970, Judy married Thomas Browne. The couple’s life together included several moves due to Thomas’s military career, ultimately settling at KI Sawyer Air Force Base near Marquette. Once in the Marquette area, Judy began working as a bookkeeper for El-Com Services, Inc. where she dedicated 28 years of service before retiring in 2012.

Judy dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age. She faithfully served in many capacities, including teaching Sunday School, ladies’ ministries, choir, etc. She most recently served the Lord through ministries at Calvary Baptist Church, Negaunee, Michigan.

Judy also had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and yard work. She cherished time camping with her husband and, through the years, loved boating and fishing.

Judy is survived by her loving husband, Tom Browne of Marquette; her two sons, Bill (Lori) Browne of Lake Orion, MI, and Dan (Lisa) Browne of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; and her five beloved grandchildren: Bradley, Austin, Ian, Tyler, and Colton Browne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Girlene Beers.

Friends may call at the Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Randy Reed. Burial will take place in Park Cemetery.
