John Duquette

He was a member of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Tribe up in Baraga. He had been a lifelong resident of the U.P.

John spent many years living at the Janzen House and then eventually being moved to Norlite Nursing Home.

He passed away in his sleep on December 15, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Rolene Duquette and sister, Jacquline Duquette.

He is survived by his father, Bernard Duquette of Marquette; sister, Lisa Duquette-Weesen (Richard) of Marquette; brother, Bernard (Gail) Duquette of Marquette; sister, Teri Scheiding of Traverse City, Michigan. He is survived by three children, Angel Hernandez-Orduna (Jaime) of Holland Missouri, John Thomas (Maygen) of Norway, Michigan and Darci Lanala of Houghton. He has several grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren.

Susan Payant has been a friend and caregiver of him for the last 6 years.

The family asks for no flowers or cards, but instead to make donations to the Janzen House in his memory.
