Glenys Fulsher
MARQUETTE, MI – Glenys Marie Fulsher, age 67, of Marquette, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at home, in the loving care of her family.
Born on January 6, 1957 and raised in Marquette, the daughter of Glenn and Marlene (Aird) Brunngraeber, Glenys brought warmth, humor, and love to everyone who knew her.
Glenys graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1975 and went on to pursue her passion for helping others at Northern Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition. She married the love of her life, Richard Fulsher, on May 19, 1984, and together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.
Glenys began her career as a dietician in St. Ignace, where she worked at a health care facility for a year before returning to her hometown of Marquette. She briefly worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Holman and Dr. Bruce Miller before finding her true calling as a dietician at Norlite Nursing Center, where she dedicated 10 years of her life to improving the well-being of others. She later joined the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming, where she completed her career. After retiring in late 2017, Glenys lent her talents part-time to her husband’s business, EQ Muffler Shop. Her quick wit and sense of humor shone brightly during these years, as she often joked, “I work all day for little pay, I whistle while I work, my boss is a jerk.”
Glenys was a woman of many interests and talents. She enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, watching game shows, and expressing her love for her family through her exceptional cooking and baking. Known for her generosity, kindness, and boundless love, Glenys devoted her life to caring for her family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Richard; her children, Kelsey (Jeremy Lancour) Fulsher of Marquette and Lance (Lauren) Fulsher of Kingsley, MI; and her adored granddaughter, Addison Fulsher. Glenys also leaves behind her sisters, Janey (Ed) Swanson, Mary (Spence) Brunngraeber, and Beverly (Sabrina) Gillis, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Bay Cliff Health Camp, P.O. Box 310, Big Bay, MI 49808, a cause close to Glenys’s heart.
