Peter Bianchi

Peter was born November 9, 1949 in Ishpeming to Peter and Marguerite (Duhaime) Bianchi, graduated from Gwinn High School, Class of 1967, and was a lifelong area resident. He married Laura Soyring on a leapyear, February 29, 1984. Peter worked for over 33 years for Michigan Bell and Ameritech telephone companies, retiring in February of 2002.

In his spare time, Peter enjoyed restoring old cars and tractors, hunting, woodworking, tinkering in his garage for hours, and loved being at his camp in the Arnold area. Peter was a true busy body who never sat still. He had a true gift of gab, who was able to engage in meaningful conversations with anyone he came across.

Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Laura Bianchi of Gwinn; his daughter, Emily Vaughn of Marquette; his granddaughter, Adelaide Mayer of Houghton; sister, Marie Pelkie of Virginia Beach, VA; sister-in-law, Janet (Tim) Yager and their daughters Alison and Denise; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, Dennis Pelkie; and his mother-in-law, Bertha Soyring.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Friday, November 22nd at American Legion Post #349, Little Lake. A potluck style luncheon will be served. Honoring Peter’s wishes, please come in casual attire, and be prepared for good stories and a good laugh.
