Patricia LaFreniere

NEGAUNEE, MI-Patricia Lael ‘Pat’ LaFreniere, 89, loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, of Negaunee, passed away peacefully at home Friday evening, November 8, 2024 while in the care of her loving family and UP Home Health and Hospice.

Pat was born March 25, 1935 in Ishpeming to Alfred and Lempi (Alongo) Beauchaine and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1953. She was employed as a clerk at Tommy’s Buyrite and then as a baker at Jim’s IGA in Negaunee from where she retired.

Pat loved entertaining family and friends at her home; she threw the best parties, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas. She enjoyed sing-a-longs to old country music, reading and watching her TV series. Pat was a proud Negaunee sports fan and loved following her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout their athletic careers. In later years, she enjoyed watching games at the Negaunee Alumni Baseball Tournament.

Surviving are her children: Karen (Andy) DellAngelo, Peter LaFreniere, DDS and Bradley (Jolene) LaFreniere, all of Negaunee; grandchildren: David (Karen) DellAngelo, Michael (Melissa) DellAngelo, Marisa (Matt) LePage, Jessica (Cornell Ballard) LaFreniere, Jordyn (Brad) Saatio, Lucas (Tina) LaFreniere, PhD and Alex (Audrey) LaFreniere; great-grandchildren: Michael DellAngelo, Macyn and Evan DellAngelo, Cooper, Laken and Gracey LePage, Cyson, Carter and Nella LaFreniere; step great-grandchildren: Andy, Abby, Olivia and Thomas Kubas; her sisters: Geraldine Bair of Napa, CA, Kay Beauchaine of Norway, MI and Susan (Ron) Erickson of Diorite; sister-in-law, Shirley Beauchaine of Ishpeming; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudolph ‘Rudy’ LaFreniere in 2010; sisters: Nancy (Alan) Besola and Marsha (Chuck) McClary; her brothers: Tom, Bruce ‘Bruno,’ Steven ‘Whitey’ (Sharon), and Duane (Trina) Beauchaine; and brother-in-law, Bud Bair.

Honoring Pat’s wishes, A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
