Hazel Marie Burling

She was born March 8, 1930, in Ishpeming, a daughter of the late Emil and Vieno (Ojala) Lummukka. She was raised there and attended Ishpeming schools.

As a young adult, Hazel worked at the HW Gossard Company in Ishpeming. Following her marriage to George A. Burling on May 13, 1950, Hazel took on the role of homemaker raising and caring for her family.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Her interests included knitting, baking, bird watching and volunteering at church.

Hazel is survived by her children, Karri (Ted) Rochon of Marquette, Steven (Chris) Burling of West Palm Beach, FL, Robert Burling of Marquette, (Ralph) Marmion Ashville, NC and Mark (Ruth) Burling of Lake Elmo, MN; grandchildren, Carl Marmion, Erin Marmion, Steven Burling II, Matthew Burling, Adrienne Rhodes, Eric Burling and Grant Burling; a step-grandson, Willie Owen; great-grandchildren, Jacob Burling and Etta Marmion; sisters; Gloria Maki, Loretta (Brian) Niemi, Linda (Peter) Bleich; brother, Marvin Lummukka, and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Terri Marmion.

A private graveside service was held at Park Cemetery in Marquette.
