Kevin Hodges

ISHPEMING TWP, MI- Kevin W. Hodges, age 57, longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 21, 2024 at his home.

Kevin was born in Sheboygan, WI on November 18, 1966, son of the late James and Judith (Ehlers) Hodges. He grew up in Ishpeming, and graduated from Ishpeming High School with the class of 1985. Following graduation, Kevin attended NMU for 2 years before going on to own and operate the Home Gallery in Ishpeming.

Upon his passing, Kevin was still working as an Operations Manager for Marqtran and had worked there just under 10 years. Kevin felt very close to his Marqtran family and proudly served his community and their transportation needs. Another proud achievement was his service as an Ishpeming Township Volunteer firefighter.

Kevin was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church. He was involved in Ducks Unlimited, bird hunting, pontooning on the Dead River Basin and spending time in nature while “tooling around” on his side by side. Kevin had a wide range of interest in the world around him and also took great joy in horseback riding, gardening and his beloved Great Danes.

Family was the first priority in Kevin’s life. He had a very caring and generous nature, and would give anything to take care of his wife and kids.

Kevin is survived by his wife- Shawn (Grawey) Hodges whom he married on September 28, 1991, 2 children- Clarissa (Crystal Fletcher) Hodges, Benjamin Hodges, his beloved dogs- Scarlett, Jade, Sterling, and Ace, father-in-law and mother-in-law- William and Pauline Grawey, 3 sisters-in-law- Renee (Sean) Gaudet, Tracy (Randy) Rasmovicz, Goldie Stacey, 5 nieces and nephews- Allissa (Brett), Marcus, Jordan, and Isaac Hodges, Chloe (Wade Cereghini) Gaudet, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin daughters- Camilla and Daniella Hodges, and his brother- Kenton Hodges.

Kevin’s family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Monday October 28, 2024 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Tim Johnston officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
