Theodore Clark

MARQUETTE MI – Theodore Jerome Clark, age 67, of Marquette, affectionately known as Ted to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, at UP Health System-Marquette.

Born on March 7, 1957, a son of Kenneth and Doris (Swanson) Clark, Ted’s life was one marked by dedication, humor, and a deep love for his community.

Ted graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1975. After high school, he explored various job opportunities, which showcased his versatility and adaptability. Eventually, Ted found his calling in the real estate industry, where he became a well-respected realtor with Select Reality. His passion for helping others find their perfect home was evident to all who worked with him. Even after semi-retiring, Ted continued to engage with the Marquette community through his work at Cal’s Party Store, becoming a familiar and beloved figure to many.

A sports enthusiast, Ted’s love for the game was undeniable. He spent many a sunny day perfecting his swing on the golf course and enjoyed the camaraderie and competition of playing baseball in his younger years. His loyalty to his favorite teams, the Lions and Tigers, was unwavering, and he could often be found cheering them on, whether in victory or defeat.

Ted’s interests extended beyond sports; he was an avid hunter who cherished the tranquility and excitement of going to camp during hunting season. His excellent sense of humor was a gift that he shared generously, brightening the days of those around him. In his youth, he was a fan of Tom Jones, this was just another facet of his vibrant personality.

Ted’s social circle was vast, a testament to his friendly nature and the ease with which he made lasting friendships. He was the kind of person who left a positive impact on everyone he met, and his absence will be deeply felt by the many friends who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ted is survived by his loving siblings: Dan (Pamela) Clark of Marquette, Denise Hyde of Marquette, and Katherine Thompson of Edgerton, WI. His life was enriched by the close bonds he shared with his family, and their memories of Ted will be cherished forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jan Greenleaf, and brother-in-law Roger Hyde. Ted’s family takes comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his loved ones who passed before him.

Ted Clark’s journey through life was one filled with laughter, love, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we take solace in the countless happy memories he has left behind. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as it always has.

Honoring Ted’s request, a celebration of life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to share stories, laughter, and honor the man who brought so much joy to their lives. Ted’s life was a testament to the power of community, the importance of laughter, and the enduring nature of friendship. He will be remembered not just for the life he led, but for the lives he touched.
