Donald R.L. Ward

He was born December 18, 1964, in Marquette, a son of the late Donald R. and Mary L. (Robert) Ward. He was a Marquette Senior High School graduate and earned an Associate’s degree in criminal justice from NMU.

Donald served in the US Army and US Navy.

He worked as a bartender at the former Westwood Lanes and later as a surgical technician at Marquette General Hospital for years.

Donald enjoyed fishing with his father, spending time with his children and family, golfing and biking.

He is survived by his son, Phillip Turner of Ishpeming; sister, Heather (Rick) Milliner of Marquette; two nephews, Alex King of Marquette and Andrew Valenti of Marquette and a great-nephew, EJ King of Marquette.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Amy Ward.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 2 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Little Lake American Legion.

A celebration of Donald’s life will immediately follow the cemetery services at Vango’s Pizza & Cocktail Lounge.
