COVINGTON, MI – Jennifer Christine Rajala, age 35, longtime area resident, passed away on Friday, November 4th, 2022, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Jen was born in Marquette on May 4th, 1987, daughter of Mary Rajala and the late James Rajala. Growing up she attended L’Anse High School graduating with honors with the class of 2005. Following graduation Jen went on to study at Northern Michigan University where she received a associate degree from the school of Radiology. She has been working as a traveling Cardiac Tech for Aureus Medical where she enjoyed moving throughout the country to different hospitals in need of Tech’s.
Jen was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Covington, life member of the Covington VFW post 8945. She enjoyed playing basketball, hiking, traveling, and outdoor activities. Jen was a Nike fashion extraordinaire, always wearing anything Nike from head to toe. She enjoyed the finer things in life. Jen was a huge Michigan Sports Fan.
Jen is survived by her mother- Mary C. Rajala of Covington, MI, 3 siblings- Robert (Sarah) Rajala of Butte, MT, Lindsay (Ryan) Martinac of Ishpeming, MI, Hilary (Erik) Johnson of Negaunee, MI, significant other- Jesse O’Neal, nieces- Brooklyn and Hailey, nephews- Tyler, Rowen, and Carsen.
She was preceded in death by her father- James E. Rajala in April of 2020.
Jen’s family will greet relatives and friends at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Covington from 11:00 a.m., until 2:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 11th, with Rev. Richard Little officiating. A potluck luncheon will take place for both Jen and Lacey at the Covington Multi Purpose Building following the services.
