Lary Wayne Rosenberger
AUSTIN, TX – Lary Wayne Rosenberger died unexpectedly Sunday, February 27th, 2022, at his place of residence in Austin, Texas.
He was born November 16th, 1962, in Highland Park, Michigan, a son of Paul and Janet Rosenberger. Lary’s parents moved from the Detroit area to Marquette when he was in the 4th grade, and he later graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1980. He was very athletic as a young person playing baseball and hockey. He played on the Pee Wee A Travel team, The Bantams, The Electricians and The Marquette High School Redman. One of his hockey accomplishments placed him in the Top 100 group of best players for the Redmen. He was good at the sport and enjoyed being on ice. As an adult, he continued to put skates on to play from time to time.
He left the Marquette area for Albuquerque, New Mexico, and it was there he met Holly and her son young son, Austyn. They were married and remained in the area for a number of years. He secured work with Intel in the Rio Rancho area for 7 years. The family moved and expanded to the Austin, Texas area.
Lary remained in the semi conductor business with AMD for another 12 years. His son, Dalton, was born in 1993 and his daughter, Darby, in 1998. With flexible schedules, he was able to be at home to help with in home child rearing while the kids were young. He was always a very proud father of his children’s accomplishments through life. The children were very active in a variety of sports and other interests. All went on to graduate from college. His stepson, Austyn, a marine as well, sadly passed away unexpectedly in 2020, at the age of 35.
Lary enjoyed continuing to work out in health clubs throughout his life, until injuries and age crept in. He walked the paths along the rivers in the Austin area to find peace in solitude when he could. There was never a stranger, as he met new people. He was never shy about conversations with people he met in the grocery store, street, and restaurants. His smile and positive attitude and interest in their lives, caught their attention. “Knowing as he passed along the way, he made somebody smile.”
Lary was preceded in death by his father; Paul Rosenberger of Marquette, his stepson; Austyn Griffin of Nashville, TN, and grandparents; John and Mary Rosenberger and Wayne and Elaine Kallio.
He is survived by his mother; Janet Rosenberger of Marquette, his brother; Richard Rosenberger and wife; Renae of Marquette, his sister; Marcia Stewart and husband; Mark of Scottsdale, AZ, his son; Dalton Rosenberger of Dallas, TX, his daughter; Darby Rosenberger of Atlanta, GA, his friend and ex-wife; Holly Chappell of Dallas, TX, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
