Nancy Ann Russo

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI – Nancy Ann Russo, 73, of Chocolay Township, and former Negaunee resident, entered eternal life at her home early Thursday morning, August 18th, 2022, while in the loving care of her husband and UP Home Health and Hospice.
Nancy was born September 18th, 1948, in Iron River, Michigan, to Robert Paul and Mary Ann (Moore) James and graduated from Iron River High School, Class of 1966. She then graduated from Bryant and Stratton Business School in Milwaukee and also attended NMU’s School of Business. Nancy was united in marriage to Thomas A. Russo in 1969, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, in Iron River.
Mrs. Russo was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Negaunee and St. Louis the King Catholic Church in Chocolay Township.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, Nancy, enjoyed her love of horses and trained her beloved black Morgan horse in many levels of horsemanship. It was a lifetime passion and she had many beloved friendships in the horse ownership group.
Surviving are her mother, Mary Ann James of Iron River; her husband of 52 years, Tom Russo; two sons: Matthew (Ashley) Russo of Howell, Michigan and Mark (Terri) Russo of Syracuse, New York; five beloved grandchildren: Nate, Mackenzie, Anthony, Carmello and Calagero; sister, Peggy Ann (Rick) Angeli of Iron River; brother, Bruce (Gretchen) James of Marshfield, Wisconsin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 5th, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church, in Negaunee, with the times to be announced by Koskey Funeral Home.
