Patricia I. Winton

Patricia was born February 24th, 1942, in Houston, TX, to the late Wilbur J. Winton and S. Irene (Hietala) Winton Kaare.

Patricia served two years with the U.S. Army with the Army Nurse Corps in Germany. She received her nursing diploma from Presbyterian St. Luke’s in Chicago, IL and has lived and worked in various places such as Ontonagon, Trout Creek, Iron River, Chicago, Denver, Germany and Ann Arbor. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Wayne State University in Detroit.

Patricia has lived in Marquette since 1976 and worked for UPQA and Marquette General Hospital. After 20 years with Marquette General Hospital, Patricia retired in 2006, as Director of Quality Assurance. Patricia enjoyed photography, hiking, kayaking and horseback riding.

Patricia is survived by her life partner, Cathy LaFortune of Marquette; siblings, W. Patrick (Elaine) Winton of Dexter, MI, Joseph J. (Elaine) Kaare of Port Townsend, WA and Linda Sue Kaare of Marquette, MI, as well as, several nieces and nephews.

Per Patricia’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
