David A. Bolduc

MARQUETTE, MI – David A. Bolduc, 73, of Marquette, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021, at his home, while under the care of his family and Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice.

He was born July 30, 1948, in Marquette, a son of Arthur and Mildred (Joslin) Bolduc. He grew up on Silver Creek Road and later made his home there.

After graduating from Marquette Senior High School, Dave went on to study at Northern Michigan Skill Center. He worked as a mason and job foreman and ultimately became a Master Mason with an expertise in stone masonry. He was a proud member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Local 2 Michigan Chapter 6 Upper Peninsula for 37 years. He was especially proud to have built a beautiful stone grotto dedicated to The Virgin Mary, located at Queen of Peace Church in Kingsford, MI.

Amongst his other achievements, Dave was a 1st place winner in the Marquette Christmas Light Contest six years in a row. Along with his neighbor, Gary, he worked diligently to create a drive-thru Christmas fantasy. He took great joy in delighting the many families that came to see the wondrous displays.

David had an avid respect and love for the outdoors and life in the UP. He loved spending time in the wilderness. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He looked forward to the Bass Masters fishing tournament at Dead River Basin every year.

He also was an avid NASCAR fan. In his earlier years he built and raced stock cars and snowmobiles and won many trophies for his efforts.

Most importantly, Dave loved his family and was truly proud and grateful for them.

David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara “Sue” (Styles) Bolduc; children, Jeremy (Tracy) Bolduc, Sarah Bolduc and Hannah (Jonathan) Bolduc; several grandchildren, a great-grandchild; aunt, Mary Babel; sister-in-law, Jane Bolduc; and nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Bolduc.
